Celsius Energy launches a demonstration site in the United Kingdom

Located in the heart of Stonehouse, the 4,500 m² SLB Group technology center has transitioned from a traditional gas and chiller system to Celsius Energy’s advanced solution.

Completed in just 10 months on an occupied site, the system includes 18 closed-loop, inclined geothermal boreholes paired with a ground source heat pump managed by a digital platform that optimizes energy performance in real time.

This new demonstration site offers visitors an opportunity to experience a live installation and witness Celsius Energy’s innovations in action.

The immediate benefits of the solution include:

- 100% of cooling needs and 84% of heating needs met by geothermal energy,

- 65% reduction in CO₂ emissions,

- 67% energy savings,

- £40,000 in annual energy bill savings.

With this new installation, the SLB group now has three buildings converted to geothermal energy, demonstrating its confidence in the Celsius Energy solution and the proven performance of our technology. This project represents a significant step toward the Group's ambitious goal of decarbonizing its entire real estate portfolio by 2050.

With a high reliance on gas for electricity production (40%) and domestic heating (85%), the UK is actively seeking alternatives to enhance its energy security. In this context, Celsius Energy’s geothermal technology addresses these challenges with a simple, renewable, and scalable solution, even in densely urban areas.
