Background
The Mansart Foundation sought an efficient and sustainable solution to provide heating and cooling for four iconic buildings in the Bois de Boulogne: Château de Bagatelle and the Trianon, both listed as historical monuments, Villa Windsor, formerly the residence of General de Gaulle and King Edward VIII of England, and Villa Amelia.
The solution proposed by Celsius Energy emerged as one of the few viable alternatives to sustainably replace the existing oil and gas systems, while preserving the site’s historical integrity. The technology integrates discreetly into this protected wooded area (EBC) and meets the requirements of listed heritage buildings. Its inclined borehole technology is particularly well-suited to heritage sites, reducing the ground footprint by a factor of 100 compared to conventional geothermal systems.
Through its comprehensive approach, including intelligent performance management and the availability of internal resources, Celsius Energy enabled a swift and efficient decision-making process.
This renovation project is being carried out as part of a sponsorship initiative by VINCI Energies.
