Background
The VSE is located on a site that includes offices and a metalwork, locksmith and machine repair workshop. For its entire site, the customer wanted a renewable energy solution that would cover all heating and air-conditioning energy consumption.
Need
The company wanted to switch to a solution that could meet the specific requirements of its dual activity: on the one hand, heating its workshop, and on the other, heating and cooling its offices.
Solution
Celsius Energy helped the company implement a 100% geothermal heating and cooling solution. A pre-feasibility study identified both the economic and environmental benefits of this solution compared with other references.
Inclined geothermal probe technology proved particularly well-suited to the site’s future development: 7 probes were installed to heat the workshop and 2 probes to heat and cool the offices (at a depth of 200 meters), connected to two geothermal heat pumps.
Result
The site is now equipped with a highly stable geothermal heating and cooling system, with no visual or noise pollution, and very low energy consumption.
The system covers 100% of the offices’ heating and cooling requirements. The workshop is supplied with heating only.
It reduces CO2 emissions by 80% and final energy consumption by 75% (compared with a gas reference).
Thanks to digital control of the installation, customers can monitor and optimize their energy consumption while visualizing the environmental benefits of our solution.
