Background
The Optic 2000 group brings together three major brands in the field of optics and hearing aids in France: Optic 2000, LISSAC and AUDIO 2000. Their mission is to increase visual and audio comfort for everyone. Energy issues and the evolution of the regulatory framework, which are more restrictive, have pushed the company to implement a Celsius Energy geoenergy solution at their Headquarters office in Clamart, France.
Need
The Optic 2000 group’s main goal was to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions with a more environmentally friendly heating and cooling solution.
Celsius Energy’s turnkey solution installed 21 inclined probes at a depth of 200 m. A technical control room supports this with a geothermal heat pump and a digital energy management solution. The installation on a 12 000 m² surface took only eight months.
Result
Celsius Energy solution allows a reduction of CO2 emissions by 71% and a reduction of total energy consumption by 68% compared to the initial system. The new installation is discrete, aesthetic and silent, contributing to the overall well-being by reducing noise pollution. This aspect of the Celsius Energy solution is particularly important to the Optic 2000 Group, considering their mission to offer visual and audio comfort and contribute to everyone’s well-being. Additionally, the system is more environmentally friendly and has a small footprint compared to other conventional solutions.
Shallow geothermal energy met many of our criteria: it could be integrated into existing heating and cooling systems, offered a competitive return on investment, and ensured the equipment remained inconspicuous. Additionally, it is a sustainable, non-intermittent energy source.
